 | Letter from the Editor Happy New Year and welcome to our premiere issue of Rags ‘N’ Riches Magazine. 2008 was a tough year for most, but was also triumphant. We elected our first Black president, Barack Obama. (Yes we did!) Now if you are like most of us, you have already messed up on all of your resolutions (put that chocolate cake down). Instead of trying to reach unrealistic goals, try focusing on something attainable, like bettering yourself. Take a class, volunteer your time or learn a new sport. Take a trip. Start on that novel that you’ve been thinking about writing. This year, surround yourself with positive people, places and things. Leave all the negativity in 2008. Do some early spring cleaning! Clean up your house and also clear out those people that hold you back (this includes those dead-beat boyfriends and girlfriends). Also, don’t be afraid to pursue your dreams. Live, laugh and love to the fullest. Until the next issue,
